WIFE OR DEMON?

RAMAYANA

DASARATHA was thunder-stuck.

When his mind resumed its function, he doubted the reality of what had happened.  " Could  it be other than a hideous drama? Or the Phantasmagoria of a disordered brain? Or the sudden materialisation of the sins of some past birth called up for my chastisement? I am certainly the victim of an illusion. I cannot believe this to be reality."

Unable to stand the confused agony of shapeless terrors, he closed his eyes and became unconscious. Opening his eyes a little latter, they fell on Kaikeyi and he trembled like a stag at the site of a tiger.  He sat up on the floor and moaned , swaying helplessly this side and that like a cobra held by the spell of a potent charm. Again he swooned.

After a long interval, he recovered his senses and, with eyes turned to his tormentor and inflamed with helpless anger, cried out: "O wicked ogress! Destroyer of my dynasty! What harm has  Raama done to you? Has he not looked upon you as his own mother? I thought you were a woman.  I now see you are a venomous serpent brought from far away and cherished in my bosom only to sting me to death."

Kaikeyi was unmoved and spoke not a ward.

The King went on, "On what pretext can I banish Raama, whom all the people love and praise.? I may loose Kausalya and survive. I may loose the pure-minded  Sumitra and survive. But if I lose Raama, I cannot live thereafter . Without water, without sunlight, I may live for a while, but never without Raama. Expel from your mind this sinful thought.

For one whose mind is unbridled, self-realization is difficult work.  But he whose mind is controlled and who strives by appropriate means is assured of success. That is My opinion.

Arjuna said: O Krishna, what is the destination of the unsuccessful transcendentalist, who in the beginning takes to the process of self-realization with faith but who later desists due to worldly mindedness and thus does not attain  perfection in my mysticism?

6-38

O mighty-armed Krishna,does not such a man, who is bewildered from the path of transcendence, fall away from both spiritual and material success and perish  like a riven cloud, with no position in any sphere?

6-39

This is my doubt, O Krishna, and I ask  You to dispel it completely. But for you, no one is to be found who can destroy this doubt.

సరస్సులోనుంచిపలు విధాలైన కాలువలు ప్రవహించిన ప్రకారం, శ్రీమన్నారాయణునిలో నుంచి విశ్వ్రశ్రేయాదాయకాలై అనేకాలైన అవతారాలు ఆవిర్భవిస్తూ ఉంటాయి. భూపతులూ , దేవతలూ, బ్రహ్మర్షులూ, మహర్షులూ మహావిష్ణువు అంశవల్ల పుట్టినవారే. బలరాముని సోదరుడైన శ్రీకృష్ణుడు సాక్షాత్తూ శ్రీ హరి అవతారమే. వారిద్దరికీ భేదం లేదు.

ఏయే సమయాలలో లోకాలు రాకాసి మూకల వల్ల చీకాకు పాలవుతాయో ,ఆయా సమయాలలో, ఆయా యుగాలలో, భగవంతుడైన శ్రీమన్నారాయణుడు లీలావతారుడై ప్రాదుర్భవించి  దుష్టశిక్షణ శిష్టరక్షణం చేస్తుంటాడు.

అత్యంత రహస్యాలైన వాసుదేవుని అవతారగాథలు ఏమానవుడు ఉదయమూ సాయంకాలమూ అత్యంత శ్రద్ధాభక్తులతో నిత్యమూ పఠిస్తాడో అతడు ధుఃఖమయమైన సంసార బంధాలకు దూరంగా తొలగిపోయి ఆనందం అనుభవిస్తాడ.
