SEETHA'S RESOLVE

RAMAYANA

Contemporaneously with the yaaga in Ayodhya there was a conference of the Devas in heaven. The Devas complained to Lord Brahma that  Raavana, king of the demons, drunk with the power acquired by the boon granted to him by Brahma, was causing them untold misery and hardship. they represented to Brahma:"It is beyond our capacity to subdue, conquer or kill  Raavana. In the security of your boon, he has grown wicked and insolent and ill-treats all, even women,  His desire is to dethrone Indra. You are only our only  refuge and it is for you to devise a method by which Raavana can be slain and his despotism ended. "

Brahma knew that he had granted to Raavana the boon prayed for by him that he should be invulnerable and invincible against Devas, Asuras,Gandharvas and other such beings. In his arrogance, Raavana did not care to ask for security against mankind. As Brahma revealed this fateful omission all the Gods rejoiced and turned to Vishnu.

TEXT. 1.10

Our strength is immeasurable, and we are perfectly protected by Grandfather Bhishma, where as the strength of the Pandavas, carefully protected by Bhima, is limited.

 

TEXT  1.11

All of you must give full support to Grandfather Bhishma, as you stand at your respective strategic points of entrance into the phalanx of the army.

TEXT 1.12

Then Bhishma , the great valiant grandsire of the Kuru dynasty, the grand father of the fighters, blew his conchshell very loudly , making a sound like the roar of the lion , giving Duryodhana joy. 

TEXT  1.13

After that, the conchshells, drums,bugles,trumpets and horns were all suddenly sounded, and the combined sound  was tumultuous.

ఈ విధంగా సకల లోక చక్రవర్తులైనముగ్గురు మూర్తులకూచేతులొగ్గి  నమస్కారం చేసిన అనంతరం

హిమాచల కుమారి అయిన ఉమాదేవి మనస్సులోని అనురాగ సంపదను సంపాదించి,కలికల్మషాలను భేదించి , ఆపన్నుల విన్నపాలను ఆమోదించి , ఆశ్రితుల విఘ్నతలను ఛేదించి , మంజుల మధుర భాషణాలతో అశేష భక్తులకూ విశేష సంతోషాన్ని ప్రసాదించి, కుడుములూ ఉండ్రాళ్ళూ కడుపువిండా ఆరగించిమూషకరాజును అధిరోహించి, ముల్లోకాలకూ మోదప్రదాయకుడైన వినాయకునకు కైమోడ్పులు ఘటిస్తాను.
