RAMAYANA

The King begged her more importunately "State your wish. It shall be done. Do you want any one punished? I shall Punish him. Do you want anyone freed from punishment? I shall free him, even if he is a murderer.

You know my absolute authority  I can give and I can take, as I please.  Anywhere,to anyone, I can do what I wish. Ask me anything and it shall be done at once.

Kaikeyi sat up. The King was pleased. And she began: "No one slighted or dishonored me. But there is something which you can do and you must do it for my sake. Give me your word that you will fulfill my desire.Then I shall tell you what it is." 

Hearing this, the unsuspected old man was filled with joy. Possessing absolute powers, he had no doubt that he could fulfill her wishes whatever they were, and so boldly and joyously he said: "Well Kaikeyi, tell me your wish. It shall be done. I swear it on all I love most--on you, the dearest among women, and on Raama, dearest to me among men!. I swear in the name of Raama: Whatever you desire, I shall do, I promise, I swear."

Guileful wickedness and trustful  misfortune were reaching the climax in their unequal encounter . The King's swearing in the name of Raama filled Kaikeyi with supreme delight. She was now sure that she had won, for the king would never break  a promise coupled with that beloved name.

One should engage oneself in the practice of yoga with  determination and faith and not be deviated from the path.One should abandon , without expectation, all material desires born of mental speculation and thus control all the senses on all the sides by the mind.

Gradually, step by step , one should become situated in trance by means of intelligence: sustained by full conviction, and thus the mind should be fixed on the self alone and should think of nothing else.

From wherever the mind wanders due to its flickering and unsteady nature , one must certainly withdraw it and bring it back under the control of the self.

The yogi whose mind is fixed on Me verily attain the higher perfection of transcendental happiness. He is beyond the mode of passion, he realizes his qualitative identity with the Supreme, and thus he is freed from all reactions to past deeds.

ఆదినారాయణదేవుడు మొదట కౌమారమనే స్వర్గాన్ని ఆశ్రయించి సనకసనందనాది రూపాలతో కఠోరమైన బ్రహ్మ చర్యాన్ని ఆచరిస్తూ బ్రహ్మణ్యుడై చరించాడు. రెండవసారి యజ్ఞవరాహ దేహం ధరించి విశ్వసృష్టి నిమిత్తం రసాతలం నుంచి భూమండలాన్ని ఉద్దరించాడు. మూడవ పర్యాయం నారదుడనే దేవర్షిగా జన్మించి మోక్షదాయకమైన వైష్ణవ ధర్మాన్ని బోధించాడు. నాలుగోఅవతారంలో ధర్ముడనువానికి మూర్తియందు నరనారాయణ స్వరూపుడై  ఆత్మ శాంతికోసం అపారమైన తపస్సు చేసాడు. ఐదోది కపిలావతారం.దేవహూతి  కర్దములకు జనించి అసురి  అనే భ్రాహ్మణుడికి తత్వనిరూపకమైనసాంఖ్యాన్ని ఉపదేశించాడు. ఆరో అవతారంలో అత్రి అనసూయలకు దత్తాత్రేయుడై పుట్టి అలర్కుడు, ప్రహ్లాదుడు మొదలైనవారికి ఆత్మవిద్య ప్రభోదించాడు.

AHALYA

RAMAYANA After a day's stay  in the City of Visaala, Viswaamitra and his  party left for Mithila. On the way,  not for from Mithila, they saw a beautiful aashrama which seemed untenanted. Raama asked V iswaamitra: "Whose is this aashrama with ancient trees? Why does such a beautiful abode stand deserted?" RAMAYANA Contemporaneously with the yaaga in A yodhya there was a conference of the Devas in heaven. The Devas complained to Lord Brahma that  Raavana, king of the demons, drunk with the power acquired by the boon granted to him by Brahma, was causing them untold misery and hardship. they represented to Brahma:"It is beyond our capacity to subdue, conquer or kill  Raavana. In the security of your boon, he has grown wicked and insolent and ill-treats all, even women,  His desire is to dethrone Indra. You are only our only  refuge  and it is for you to devise a method by which Raavana can be slain and his despotism ended. " Brahma knew that he had granted to Raavana the boon prayed for by him that he should be invulnerable and invincible against Devas, Asuras,Gandharvas and other such beings.
