RAMAYANA

RAAMA REPORTED TO HIS mother the King's latest command. She answered: "This  I have heard.May you live long. Be a good ruler
Conquer  your foes and protect your subjects and kinsfolk. You have pleased your father and you have made me happy."

Then bidding farewell to his mother, and step-mother, Raama went to his own apartment. As directed by the King, Vasistha came to Raama's place. He was welcomed by him at the entrance. Vasishtha initiated Raama with due mantras in his pre-coronation fast.

As Vasishtha returned to the King, he saw groups of people on the royal road, cheerfully discussing the great festval of the morrow. Houses were being decorated with flowers, festoons and flags. It was with difficulty that Vasishtha could make his way through the crowds to the King's palace. The King was pleased to hear that the fast had begun duly and all was being got ready for the ceremony.  

But in his heart of hearts there was a fear that some mishap might come between him and his one wish. 

The city was  in a joyous commotion of expectancy. In every house, in every street, men, women and children looked on the coronation as a great and auspicious occasion in their own lives and awaited it  with enthusiasm.

Raama and Seeta in  their dwelling meditated long on Narayana, fed with ghee  the sacrificial fire, and reverently sipped what remained of the ghee, and slept on grass spread on the floor.

Arjuna said: O Krishna,  first of all you ask me to renounce work, and then again you recommend work with devotion. Now will you kindly tell me definitely which of the two is more beneficial. 

5-2
The Personality of God head replied: The renunciation of work and work in devotion are both good for liberation. But, of the two, work in devotional service is better than renunciation of work.

5-3
One who neither hates nor desires the fruits of his activities is known to be always renounced. Such a person from all dualities, easily overcomes material bondage and is completely liberated , O mighty-armed Arjuna.

5-4
Only the ignorant speak of devotional service (Karma-Yoga) as being different from the analytical study of the material world (Sankhya) . Those who are actually learned say that he who applies himself well to one of these paths achieves the results of both.

పురాణ రహస్యమూ అయిన మహా భాగవతాన్నిసంసారమనే గాఢాంధకార సమూహాన్ని తరించగోరే విపన్నులకు ఉపదేశించిన అపార కృపా పయోధిని, తపోనిధిని, విశేష వివేకజ్ఞానాల పెన్నిధిని, వేదవ్యాసుల పుత్రుణ్ణి, సుధీజన స్తుతి పాత్రుణ్ణి శ్రీశుకుణ్ణి ఆశక్తితో ఆరాధిస్తున్నాను.
