RAMAYANA

Eagerly the sons of Sagara proceeded to search the entire earth, but the horse was nowhere to be found. They even started  digging the earth as for buried treasure, and in their anxiety respected neither place nor person and only succeeded in earning the hatred of all the met. The horse was not to be found; and when they reported their failure to the king, he bade them ransack the nether world also.

The princes did as they were told and in Paataala they saw the horse grazing in a corner of aashrama, not for from the place where Sage Kapila who was Vishnu sat in meditation.

The princes at once jumped to the conclusion that they had not only found the stolen horse but the thief also, and they rushed on Kapila shouting " Here is the thief pretending to be a yogi."

Kapila thus disturbed opened  his eyes and the sixty thousand princes were reduced to a heap of ashes. Indra, the real thief , artfully left the Horse here with very intent.

Arjuna said: O Janaardhana, O Kesava, why do You want to engage me in  this ghastly warfare, if You think that intelligence is better than fruitive work?

My intelligence is bewildered by Your equivocal instructions. Therefore, please tell me decisively which will be most beneficial for me.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: O sinless Arjuna, I have already explained that there are two classes of men who try to realise the self. Some are inclined to understand it by empirical, Philosophical speculation, and others by devotional services.

Not by merely abstaining from work can one achieve freedom from reaction, nor by renunciation alone one can attain perfection.

ఎవనివల్ల ఈ విశ్వానికి సృష్టి,స్థితి, లయలు ఏర్పడుతుంటాయో, ఎవడు సర్వతోముఖమైన కార్యనిర్వహణలో సమర్థుడో, ఎవడు సమస్తానికీ రాజై విరాజిల్లుతుంటాడో, ఎవడు సంకల్పమాత్రం చేతనే  బ్రహ్మదేవునికి వేదాలన్నీ తేటతెల్లం చేసాడో, ఎవని మాయలకు పండితులు సైతం లోబడిపోతారో, ఎవనియందు సత్వరజస్తమో గుణాత్మకమైన ఈ సృష్టి అంతా ఎండమావుల్లో, నీళ్ళలో, గాజు వస్తువుల్లో లాగా అసత్యమైకూడా సత్యంగా  ప్రతిభాసిస్తూ ఉంటుందో, ఎవడు తన తేజస్సుతో మాయను దూరంగా తొలగిస్తాడో, అనఘుడూ, సత్యస్వరూపుడూ అయిన ఆ పరాత్పరుని ప్రతినిత్యమూ స్తుతి చేస్తున్నాను.

AHALYA

RAMAYANA After a day's stay  in the City of Visaala, Viswaamitra and his  party left for Mithila. On the way,  not for from Mithila, they saw a beautiful aashrama which seemed untenanted. Raama asked V iswaamitra: "Whose is this aashrama with ancient trees? Why does such a beautiful abode stand deserted?" Viswaamitra replied: "This aashrama is subject to a curse.  Sage Gautama lived here with his wife Ahalya,spending his days in peace and holy meditation. RAMAYANA Contemporaneously with the yaaga in A yodhya there was a conference of the Devas in heaven. The Devas complained to Lord Brahma that  Raavana, king of the demons, drunk with the power acquired by the boon granted to him by Brahma, was causing them untold misery and hardship. they represented to Brahma:"It is beyond our capacity to subdue, conquer or kill  Raavana. In the security of your boon, he has grown wicked and insolent and ill-treats all, even women,  His desire is to dethrone Indra. You are only our only  refuge  and it is for you to devise a method by which Raavana can be slain and his despotism ended. " Brahma knew that he had granted to Raavana the boon prayed for by him that he should be invulnerable and invincible against Devas, Asuras,Gandharvas and other such beings.
